The Beginning
A Dream Born During the Pandemic
Every community begins with a dream. EcoStead was born during the COVID-19 pandemic, when conversations through Claudia Davis’ real estate and financial education platforms grew into a shared vision for a more connected and sustainable way of living. Inspired by the traditional homestead lifestyle, Claudia’s daughter, Toniann Dietrich, introduced the idea of a community centered around nature, food production and shared amenities. Today, EcoStead is more than a housing development, it is a place that the shareholders designed for families to live, grow, build wealth and create a lasting legacy for future generations.

As those conversations continued, the idea of creating a different kind of community began to take shape. Inspired by the concept of a traditional homestead, a place where people live, grow, and share resources together, the vision evolved into something even greater: a master-planned, sustainable community that would combine homeownership, environmental stewardship, education, recreation, agriculture, wellness, and long-term wealth creation.

From Idea to Community
The story of EcoStead is a story of patience, purpose and persistence.
2020
The Pause
During the global COVID-19 lockdown, the founders paused to ask a profound question: what kind of community do we want to live in? The seed of EcoStead was planted.
2021
The Search for Land
An extensive search across Jamaica for land that was accessible, beautiful, ecologically rich and capable of supporting an authentic community. Portland was chosen.
2022
Norwich is Found
A 22 acre parcel in Norwich, Portland — right on the main road leading to Port Antonio overlooking the Caribbean Sea, became the home of EcoStead. Surveys, due diligence and planning began.
2024
The Vision Takes Shape
Master planning, community design, infrastructure blueprints and approvals were completed. EcoStead at Norwich was formally conceived.
2025
Real Estate Board Approval, Loan approval
Registration with the Real Estate Board, approval granted
2026
Community Opens for lot reservation sales
Lot sales commence

Why Portland?
Portland is Jamaica's most pristine parish. It was chosen not for convenience, but for character. mountains ridge, natural dry gully for drainage, sea views, close proximity to the capital Port Antonio and a people who have preserved what makes Jamaica special.
Norwich sits in the heart of it all , elevated enough for a view, close enough for convenience.
